Dear Bride of Messiah,
This week I have learned an important lesson about loving people who are difficult to understand. How many times on this path that we call "life" do we stumble across other hikers who are harder to enjoy, to be loved by, to laugh and cry with??
And how many MORE times do we attempt to throw them off of our backs; to shrug away our God-given mission to love them, through thicket and through thin mud? Too many. Too many times, we choose to view people with what I have recently named "The Black and White Version of love." It's so much easier than technicolor!!... and besides, that's how we think they view us, right? So they shouldn't care if we do the same to them...
During another moment that my heart was trying to love, to accept a certain younger sister, she opened up a bit of her color to me, that, up until now, I have chosen to be blind to. She expressed a yearning desire in her heart to see people around her love her for the person she is, the person YHVH created her to be. Hannah is not an actress. (she can be dramatic at times, but that is totally different!) She will not put on a mask if something bothers her. Hannah will say it like it is. She will tell you EXACTLY how she feels about someone or something. And to be honest, I think that this bothers people who don't!
Hannah spoke of her unrest around folks who choose to look at her with what she suspects is their "Black and White" setting (to use my own words). Why? Because she wonders if they will ever see her true colors without her trying to show them off. This is such an important lesson for us to behold. Is it not hypocritical to think that you are doing good deeds for the world, or studying to show yourself approved, or telling YHVH 10 x per day that you want to see His face, yet you neglect to love your brother/sister? By this post, I have attempted to truly see my beautiful sister with love... to admire her extravagant, bold, highlighted, rudimentary COLORS.
Perhaps there is someone in your life who needs this, too. Do it, not in the name of global peace, or a man, or for the "earth." Do it because YHVH chose to do it for you.
"It is only with the heart that one can see clearly,
for the most essential things are invisible to the eye."
